creationism vs. naturalism

I think the creationism vs. naturalism debate misses the pragmatic point. The main problem underlying the apparent debate lies in the awareness or lack thereof of the faculty of intuition. Intuition is the faculty through which a person may grasp the transcendent. Naturalists tend to deny that they posess the faculty of intuition. Creationists denigrate intuition insofar as they give revelation priority over transcendent normative intuition.

Some very powerful and cogent thoughts, brother...thanks for posting them. Yet another instance of "both...and," it would seem.

One of my favorite images for creation is the idea of God, cue-stick in hand, hitting one almighty, transcendent break-shot at the first of a billion pool-tables.

The cue-shot sinks every ball on the first table; the cue-ball jumps to the second table, and sinks every ball on that table, and so on. God's power, God's skill, triggering events with predictable, mathematical, scientific certainty. But Who fired the first cue ball? And Who lined up the balls, and the tables, such that it could occur?

Of course, there is no Biblical evidence for this...but there is plenty of evidence in creation for it, of course.
